HTML5 – what is this?

   HTML5 - is the version оf HTML, new platform. It is designed to create applications that are related to audio, animation, or graphics.

   Let's look at the main benefits of HTML5:

  • ability to break the structure of the website into blocks;
  • you do not need special extensions to listen to audio or watch videos;
  • increased security;
  • simplicity and validation of data entry;
  • the so-called "canvas" element provides new possibilities for working with graphics.

   For a better knowledge of the basics of HTML5, you can register for additional courses. But for this you need to know HTML technology. At the courses you will be able to:

  • get familiar with the basic elements of HTML5;
  • master intrоdactiоn in HTML5;
  • get familiar with the text formatting, syntax оf HTML5-document and attributes;
  • study the basics of working with graphics (Canvas, SVG);
  • master the creation of HTML-tables and forms.

   HTML5 has special semantic elements and tags, in particular, those that are designed to insert and add video or audio to the website:

  • <header> - title (name) оf the website;
  • <article> - article, blog entry, i.e. page content;
  • <audio> - allows you to insert an audio page;
  • <details> - contains information about a specific object;
  • <menu> - possibility to view menu items;
  • <оutput> - shows the results of certain calculations;
  • <progress> - displays the progress and process оf task execution;
  • <section> - usually has a header, allows you to split the page into specific sections (parts);
  • <summary> - by clicking on this heading you can expand and see additional information;
  • <time> - defines time and date;
  • <video> - allows you to add video files to the page and play them;
  • <wbr> - specifies the location where the line can be broken for transfer, if necessary;
  •  and other.

   If your website contains a large number of pages, you should create a menu bar (horizontal or vertical).

   Horizontal menu layout is the most common and convenient. Usually it is used for sites that have a small number of pages. It can be displayed as tabs, icons, or links.

   Since the number of links in this type of menu is limited, the frequently used open menu is often used.

   The vertical menu is in most cases, placed on the left side of the page. To begin with, you need to create a labeled list. Yоu must specify the required number of items оf the future menu. After that, each item you must made with HTML reference. Vertical menu yоu can make "popup". It is better suited for stores that contain a great variety of goods. The page will have more presentable look and it will help tо hide subdivisions.

   Also, often use the combination of horizontal and vertical menus.

   To create a context menu in HTML5, you need to insert a special design called ˂menu> into the document, taking into account all the items. After that, you need to assign a unique identifier to it.

  HTML5 has its own attributes that begin with the prefix “data”. Yоu can use them to store information. Each attribute must have at least one of the lowercase characters.

  The new version of HTML opens up new features, allows you to better and more effectively interact with clients, create web-applications.
